The Restaurant was designed with to express an intense sense of duality. On one hand, it is "Rational and Conptemporary", embodied through the pure state of concrete on the basic elements: Walls, Floors and Ceilings.
On the other hand, it is "Emotional and Classic", expressed by introducing the clean geometrical carpentry works, which brings warmth to the space.
The dimmly lit space dabbles with the sense of calmness and quietness which are highly desirable qualities of japanese culture. As the proverb goes: "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down."
